Since last I updated, I went out and but a can of primer and back paint. jkm7680 suggested I paint the wood pieces black to make it look nicer, and that’s what I’m doing. Currently I’ve painted the two 2x4s that will sit underneath the seat. I plan to paint the three 4x4 feet.
I also have a final CAD drawing of the next segment, which will be the “floor” of the rig, where the pedals will be. Once I finish the seat, I will begin work on the middle portion.

looks are important. it will be a large piece of kit in the end, and if you want other residents to permit it to remain in view it will have to look classy :D
